Reason for urgency:
Delivery of the Authority’s Capital Programme 2025/26 – 2027/28 depends, in part, upon the availability of capital receipts from the disposal of assets or interests which are surplus to requirements. In addition, a disposal will reduce future management costs in dealing with rent collection and leasehold management.
Deferring the decision until the next Cabinet meeting in June will delay the realisation of the benefits anticipated by the proposed transaction.
