Reason for urgency:
Delivery of the Authority’s Capital Programme 2025/26 – 2027/28 depends, in part, upon the availability of capital receipts from the disposal of assets which are surplus to requirements. In addition, the potential redevelopment of the site will generate further revenue income via Non-Domestic Rates and save time and money on future property management and clearing away any subsequent fly tipping.

Deferring the decision until the next Cabinet meeting in June will delay the realisation of the benefits anticipated by the sale of the land.
