Reason for urgency:
The provision of community leisure activity is typically viewed as an important health and wellbeing benefit for the community. The financial support proposed to be provided to Hyndburn Leisure will be used to make repayments against current year debts owed to the Council. This subsidy payment is expected to enable Hyndburn Leisure to meet all debts due to the Council for the financial year 2025/2026. The decision will provide greater certainty over the continued provision of services by Hyndburn Leisure to mitigate the risks described in paragraph 6.1 of the report and cannot reasonably be deferred until January 2026
