Councillor Scott Brerton was appointed as the Chair of the Cabinet Committee (Street Naming).

The Minutes of the meeting of the Cabinet Street Naming Committee held on the 11^th of July 2024 were submitted for approval as a correct record.

Recommended – That the Minutes be received and approved as a correct record.

The attached report seeks approval for the naming of the following streets for a new build residential development located off Mount St. James, Knuzden, Oswaldtwistle.

·         Poplar Drive

·         Willowbank Close

·         Fernwood Close

·         Brackenridge Close

·         Foxglove Close

·         Maplebrook Close

·         Hazelcroft Close

Recommended - That street names are approved as the seven street name suggestions listed above.

The report was presented by Mr David Turner, Principle Engineer who detailed the application for 7 street names for a residential development located off Mount St. James, Knuzden, Oswaldtwistle.

The 7 names proposed were as follows;

·         Poplar Drive

·         Willowbank Close

·         Fernwood Close

·         Brackenridge Close

·         Foxglove Close

·         Maplebrook Close

·         Hazelcroft Close

The names were selected in accordance with the Councils Street Naming and Numbering Policy, which is summarised in the report. The proposed names incorporate Tree Species in their titles.

Consultations were undertaken and no objections raised to the proposed names.

Resolved – That the 7 listed street names were approved by unanimous vote.
