Minutes:

The Chief Planning and Transportation Officer submitted a report to seek approval for the naming of the following Streets for a new-build residential development located off Balfour Street, Great Harwood with 57 dwellings.

4 Street names were put forward for the 3 Streets to be named, they were:

·         Lapping Way

·         Roving Street

·         Comber Crescent

·         Beamer Grove

The suggested Street names are related to the Cotton Mill that was located close to the development site and based on the cotton making process.

The suggested Street names adhere to the Street Naming and Numbering Policy. All emergency services and the royal mail had been consulted.

The Committee Members had a discussion on the Street names and they felt the Mill connection was very relevant.

They agreed on:

·         Comber Crescent

·         Roving Street

·         Beamer Grove

The pronunciation of Comber Street is a silent b for the purpose of the residents and public.

Resolved – That the 3 Street names be named Comber Crescent, Roving Street and Beamer Grove.
